When I talk to groups of journalists these days about the state of our business, I feel like a motivational speaker in a hospice. But the truth is, we are living through an explosive period of innovation, as experienced journalists team up with tech-savvy colleagues and our own readers to enrich the collection and presentation of news.
A few recent examples: the exciting hybrid journalism we have produced by having pros sort through amateur feeds from Iran, the interactive graphics and document-sharing technology that have turned readers into participants, and the gorgeously vivid quality of online photojournalism.
Bill Keller, Executive editor, The New York Times
